Don't leave out 4/7 in FL! Some of this really pops. Like the end of the 1st set and start of the second.

The thunderous last 1:30 of Promised Land is exhilarating, and portends a great 1st half to the second set. An unusual Crazy Fingers in the set-opener position kicks things off there and is followed by a not-business-as-usual Playin'-> UJB into drums. Setlists say there's a Playin' reprise as the theme is briefly restated after UJB, but in reality it all plays to my ears as an extended, drippy UJB outro jam. All three tunes are solidly and beautifully played; UJB in particular is a total delight.

This was a period where I believe the Dead were really enjoying having Hornsby around and for his part he was having a ton of fun as well. You can hear it in the music. Spring '91 Dead- Yes, please.

I haven't wanted to revisit '91 for a while, but you've put me in the mood. I'm gonna queue this one up today.

How'd it go s/r? Hope I didn't oversell it. I listened to the first set after posting the other day. It's fairly unexceptional though it's fun to hear Bruce trading verses during Jack Straw with Bob and Jerry- his favorite Dead tune. The Row Jimmy caught my ear as inspired, and as I said the pre-drums Second Set is pretty sweet.
